SEND Support Workers for Schools
Practical support throughout the school day. Eden Homecare 247 welcomes staffing enquiries from special schools and schools with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) provision in Bromley, Croydon, Greenwich and nearby London areas.
We take time to understand your setting, the pupil support required and the experience your team needs. We consider relevant school and care experience when identifying a suitable Support Worker for the agreed role, working under your school’s direction.
Support for the school day
- 1:1 pupil support: practical help with routines, communication and participation, under the school’s direction.
- Care and daily-living support: personal care, mealtime or mobility support where the agreed role, training and assessed competence are suitable.
- Planned or term-time cover: discuss your dates, hours and the experience required for your setting.
Support is tailored to the agreed role and the pupil’s support plan. Please tell us about any communication methods, personal care, moving and handling or other specific needs so that we can check the relevant experience and competence.
What your school receives before a placement
Before a confirmed placement starts, Eden will share a concise placement pack securely with your authorised school contact. It includes:
- Worker profile: a photograph, relevant school or care experience and the skills required for the agreed support role.
- Dated checks summary: written confirmation of the applicable recruitment checks, their completion dates and the person who reviewed them.
- Placement confirmation: the school, dates, hours, agreed duties and arrangements for local induction and supervision.
Before a school placement
Role-specific safer recruitment checks must be completed before deployment. These include identity and right to work, references, relevant experience and training, and the appropriate DBS and barred-list checks where required. Eden will provide the school with written confirmation of the required checks before a placement starts. Local safeguarding procedures, induction and supervision are agreed with the school.
