Find a Carer in the UK for a Parent From Abroad

Arrange support in the UK from wherever you live

Living overseas can make it harder to arrange reliable support for a parent, relative or loved one in the UK. Eden Homecare 247 helps families living abroad connect with carefully vetted independent carers for hourly support, companionship and live-in arrangements across the UK, subject to suitable carer availability.

Support when you are caring from another country

When you live outside the UK, questions about a parent’s support can be difficult to manage from a distance. Eden provides an introductory and matching service for families. We listen to what your relative needs, look for a suitable independent carer and help you speak with them before you decide whether the introduction feels right.

You can start the process from overseas by phone or email. Where practical, introductions can include a video conversation, and a family member or trusted person in the UK can also be involved.

How the overseas family introduction process works

  1. Tell us about your relative. Share where they live, what support you are considering and any important routines or preferences.
  2. We clarify what you need. This may be hourly support, companionship, everyday assistance or a live-in arrangement.
  3. We look for a suitable independent carer. Matching depends on the information you provide and suitable availability in the required area.
  4. You speak with the carer. A phone or video introduction can help you ask questions and get to know them before deciding.
  5. Your family chooses. Eden does not choose for you. You decide whether you want to continue with the introduction.
  6. You agree the ongoing arrangement directly with the carer. Eden’s role is the introduction and matching service rather than managing the day-to-day care package.

Support families can ask about

  • Companionship and regular visits
  • Everyday practical support
  • Hourly independent carer arrangements
  • Support after a hospital stay or change in circumstances
  • Live-in carer introductions for ongoing support at home

Every situation is different. Eden will be clear about whether a suitable independent carer is available in your relative’s area.

Why families abroad may choose Eden

Eden Homecare 247 was founded by Tanya Gordon after more than 21 years in the care sector. The service is built around listening carefully, making the matching process clear and helping families feel more confident about who they are speaking with.

  • UK-wide independent carer introductions, subject to suitable availability
  • Carefully vetted independent carers
  • Remote conversations for relatives living overseas
  • Family involvement before an introduction is accepted
  • Hourly and live-in carer introduction routes

Depending on the individual carer and circumstances, Eden’s vetting can include checks such as identity, DBS information, references, relevant experience and training evidence. Families should also use the introduction conversation to ask any questions that matter to them.

Eden is an introductory service, not a managed domiciliary care agency

Eden Homecare 247 introduces families to independent carers. Eden does not manage the ongoing care package or direct the carer’s day-to-day work. A separate one-off Eden introduction and matching fee applies. After a successful introduction, the family and independent carer agree their ongoing arrangement and carer fees directly.

Questions families living abroad often ask

Can I start the process if I do not live in the UK?

Yes. You can contact Eden from overseas and explain your relative’s situation. We can communicate by phone and email, with remote introductions where suitable.

Can I speak to a carer by video before deciding?

Where practical, yes. A video or phone conversation can help you discuss expectations before deciding whether to continue.

Can another relative in the UK be involved?

Yes. A family member, friend or trusted person can be included in discussions where appropriate.

Does Eden cover the whole UK?

The family introduction service is available across the UK, subject to finding a suitable independent carer in the required location.

What if the situation is urgent?

Contact Eden as soon as possible and explain the circumstances. We will tell you whether a suitable introduction may be possible. We do not promise immediate availability where an appropriate carer has not yet been identified.

Living abroad and worried about someone at home in the UK?

You do not need to work everything out before contacting us. Tell Eden where your relative lives, what support you are considering and what is worrying you most. We can explain the introduction process and the next practical step.
